Digital Nomad Visa

Digital Nomad Visa Application Service in Spain

A managed Spanish Digital Nomad Visa application for a fixed €1,899 per adult paid in three stages, through the UGE or consular route. You start and track it in the Platinum Legal Spain portal.

The Digital Nomad Visa Application Service in Spain is a managed service: your Spanish Digital Nomad Visa application is prepared and submitted for you for a fixed fee of €1,899 per adult, paid in three stages. The route is for people working remotely for employers or clients established outside Spain. It can be filed either with the Unidad de Grandes Empresas in Spain or at a consulate, and that choice is made as part of the service. Health insurance, where your route needs it, is arranged separately by 247 Expat Insurance.

This page is the service, not the route explained. For the conditions, the income basis and how the route works, read the Digital Nomad Visa guide. For what your file has to show as healthcare evidence, see DNV health insurance documents and evidence.

Who this route suits

The Digital Nomad Visa is for people who work remotely from Spain for employers or clients based outside Spain. It is the route designed for remote employees, freelancers and contractors who want to live in Spain and keep working.

  • You work remotely for an employer or clients outside Spain
  • You want to live in Spain legally while continuing that work
  • You would rather have the application prepared and filed than assemble it yourself

Eligibility at a glance

A summary for deciding whether to proceed. The full conditions are in our Digital Nomad Visa guide.

  • Remote work for companies or clients established outside Spain, under the framework introduced by Ley 14/2013
  • Sufficient income, calculated as a multiple of the Spanish minimum wage (SMI). The SMI is reset periodically, so the office handling your file confirms the figure that applies
  • Health insurance with no copayments and no waiting periods, from an insurer authorised in Spain — the condition published in the UGE requirements sheet
  • A criminal record certificate, legalised, and the professional or contractual evidence the route requires
  • Filed either with the UGE in Spain or at the consulate for your place of residence

What the managed service includes

  • Full preparation and submission of your application
  • A route decision — UGE or consulate — and a checklist to match
  • Official translations, as set out in the service terms
  • A secure online portal showing your case status

How the application runs

Timings depend on the office handling your file and on how quickly third parties return documents. No timescale is guaranteed.

  1. You open a case in the portal and upload what you already have
  2. Your work and income evidence is reviewed and the filing route is chosen
  3. Translations and legalisation are arranged in the right order
  4. The application is assembled and submitted
  5. The decision is issued and, if you applied from abroad, you collect the visa
  6. After arrival you complete the residence card and registration steps

Health insurance for this route

The DNV has its own insurance condition

The published UGE requirement is cover with no copayments and no waiting periods, from an insurer authorised in Spain. That is stricter than the wording attached to other routes, and an ordinary policy will not always meet it.

Why use the managed service

  • The UGE and consular routes have different evidence expectations, and the choice matters
  • Work and income evidence is the part most often returned for clarification
  • Your insurance certificate written to the no-copayment standard — arranged separately by 247 Expat Insurance, and not included in the visa-service fee
  • One portal for documents, status and correspondence

Documents snapshot for this route

  • A valid passport with the validity the office requires
  • The completed application form for the route and filing point
  • Evidence of the remote working relationship — employment contract, client agreements or company documentation
  • Evidence of income on the basis the route applies
  • A criminal record certificate, legalised or apostilled
  • Healthcare evidence for your route — a private policy, Spanish Social Security affiliation, or qualifying coverage from another country
  • Evidence of qualification or professional experience where the office asks for it
  • Photographs to the office’s specification

The evidence set differs between the UGE and consular routes, which is why the filing point is settled before the documents are assembled.

Where and how the application is filed

Either with the Unidad de Grandes Empresas in Spain, or at the Spanish consulate for where you currently live. The two have different evidence expectations and different practical consequences, so the route is chosen at the start rather than assumed. After a consular application you collect the visa and complete the residence-card steps after arrival.

Family and dependants

A spouse or registered partner and dependent children can be included. Each person has their own file and their own fee, with family discounts where more than one person applies together. Where the application rests on private insurance, each insured person normally holds their own certificate.

Do I always need private health insurance for the DNV?

No. Applicants must show the healthcare coverage required for the route, and for the Digital Nomad Visa that evidence may come from Spanish Social Security affiliation, or from qualifying coverage issued by another country under an applicable agreement, rather than from a private policy. Establish which applies before buying anything.

UGE or consulate — which one applies to me?

Both routes exist, and which suits you depends on where you are and how your work is structured. The choice is made as part of the service, before documents are assembled, because the two have different evidence expectations.

Is this the visa application or the health insurance?

They are two different things, bought separately. The visa application service is provided by Retail Consulting UK Ltd through the Platinum Legal Spain portal. Any health insurance is arranged by 247 Expat Insurance and is not part of the service fee.
