• Residence in Spain without carrying out work or professional activity
• Sufficient means for yourself and any dependants, calculated as a multiple of IPREM, the Spanish public income indicator. IPREM is reset periodically, so the office handling your file confirms the figure that applies to you
• Private health insurance from an insurer authorised to operate in Spain, as required by Real Decreto 1155/2024
• A criminal record certificate, legalised, and a medical certificate where the office requires one
• Application made at the Spanish consulate for your place of residence

How the application runs

1. You open a case in the portal and upload what you already have
2. Your documents are reviewed and you receive a checklist specific to your consulate
3. Translations and legalisation are arranged in the order the office expects
4. The application is assembled and submitted
5. The consulate reaches its decision and you collect the visa
6. After arrival in Spain you complete the residence card and registration steps

Fee and payment stages

€1,499 per adult. Family discounts are available for more than one applicant.
